The Lochinvar & A.O. Smith 100208086 Ignitor Gasket Kit is a sealing component installed in gas-fired HVAC systems to maintain airtight contact between the burner assembly and the combustion chamber. It is mainly used to ensure that air and gases do not leak during the ignition of the burner. The gasket fits between the ignitor flange to ensure proper flow of combustion air. Installation is done by changing the seal that is in place when maintenance is done. In furnaces and boilers it aids in steady ignition and steady flame operation as well as accurate heat production.
