What install does it need? This is the hardwired model, which must be wired to a 60A breaker by a licensed electrician to deliver the full 48A. It avoids the outlet failure point and GFCI nuisance tripping common with plug-in chargers.
Will it work with my car? It uses the J1772 connector, so it works with all non-Tesla EVs and plug-in hybrids. Tesla owners can use it with a J1772-to-NACS adapter (not included), or choose the NACS version.
Is it safe to leave outside? Yes. The NEMA 4 enclosure is dustproof and rainproof for outdoor use. Avoid high-corrosion coastal installs. It also has dual temperature sensors and a built-in GFCI breaker.
