The Schneider Electric (Barber Colman) MP-486 is a synchronous motor commonly used in HVAC equipment like rooftop units (RTUs) and air handling units (AHUs). This single-phase motor has a variable speed range of 130 to 1300 RPM and runs on a regular 120V power supply. With the use of a wall switch, the motor’s speed may be changed, giving heating and cooling systems exact control over airflow.
