Description
The Schneider Electric (Barber Colman) MP-485 pressure control switch is extensively used in HVAC equipment such as air conditioners and refrigeration systems. It has a 120-volt motor, a 130-second delay, and a 180-foot capillary tube. This switch operates by sensing system pressure and opening or closing an electrical circuit in response to changes. When the air pressure exceeds a predetermined level, the MP-485 engages any attached equipment, such as compressors or fans. When pressure goes below the setpoint, the device deactivates. This helps to maintain continuous system compulsion, reducing damage to equipment caused by changes in pressure and guaranteeing efficient operation. The MP-485 is critical to ensuring that HVAC systems run smoothly and safely.
