Description
The Schneider Electric (Barber Colman) MA41-7150-502 is a heavy-duty electric motor starter intended for use in a variety of HVAC equipment, such as furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps. This regulates the amount of electricity sent to the motor by serving as an on/off switch. The inside coil creates a magnetic field when it is energized, which flips the internal contacts and permits current to enter the motor, starting it to run. However, when the coil is de-energized, the motor loses power. The MA41-7150-502 model in question has a 120-volt rating and a maximum current capacity of 133 amperes. It has a two-position operation that lets you turn the motor on or off. Two more switches are included for controlling other circuits, including safety sensors or indicator lights.
