This allows it to filter oil particles 100 microns and smaller without decreasing water flow. The filters permanently bind with hydrocarbons to remove free/emulsified oils and associated hydrocarbons like baby, hair and both oils as well as sunscreen. As fluid shears through MYCELX filtration media, oil and hydrocarbons bind upon contact. Molecular cohesion is so effective, systems can achieve oil removal to critically low levels.
